Food Plant Disruptions: You Won't Believe THIS!!
Hey Guys,
Have any of you heard about all of those food processing facilities that are being disrupted by fires and the like? Well, I heard about this a couple of months ago and decided to do a bit of digging.
What I found was fairly surprising, so surprising in fact that I couldn't help but share my findings, and that's what I'm here to do today.
I'll start by getting the most important thing out of the way: all of these food processing facility disruptions you're hearing about are unlikely to affect the food supply. That's because they make up such a small percentage of total food processing capacity in the United States and elsewhere. A bigger concern is that bird flu going around, but let's not go there.
Now, even though all these food processing facility disruptions are unlikely to affect the food supply, it's worth asking whether they're happening more frequently than before, and if so, why. It's also worth asking why it seems like countries are experiencing extreme weather conditions that are affecting food supply.
Climate change could be a factor, but...
