I look at one of the most pressing questions for the global economy. And that is whether the Chinese GDP numbers can really be trusted. Many people, academics and organisations have taken these published statistics for granted and have used it as a basis to project growth into the future.

However, there has always been questions around the robustness of this data. This was especially the case recently as China reported unexpected Q1 growth even while they were heading into those crazy lockdowns.

In my video today, I take a deep dive into those GDP numbers and analyse numerous reports that have tried to make sense of unexplained "smoothing". I also delve into reports of officials reporting false data.

I also break down other aspects of China's economic growth and why it should be taken with a pinch of salt.
