You see, the Fed hasn’t just been raising interest rates since early last year. It’s also been allowing its balance sheet to shrink. This has had the practical effect of pushing up longer term interest rates in the US. 

For a long time, this sell pressure (or rather the lack of buying pressure) was barely noticeable. Over the last few weeks however, other entities have started selling large amounts of US bonds, and the markets don’t like it.
